The Village of Kaslo is nestled on the shore of Kootenay Lake, between the Purcell and Selkirk Mountains, in the southwest corner of British Columbia, Canada. Kaslo was incorporated on August 14, 1893, during the West Kootenay Silver Rush, and soon diversified into agriculture and forestry.
We are but a blip on the map, but a highly creative and beautiful one. The culture of Kaslo and the surrounding Area D of Regional District Central Kootenay encompasses art, a lively enthusiasm for local history, year-round outdoor recreation, logging, mining, renewable resources, alternative lifestyles…..the list goes on.
